Tracey Bell
Dr Bell graduated from the University of North Carolina-Chapel Hill with both her Bachelor of Science in Nursing and Master of Science in Nursing. Her Doctor of Nursing Practice was obtained from Duke University in North Carolina. She is currently the coordinator for the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner Program at the University of Pittsburgh School of Nursing.
An area of interest for Dr Bell is the expansion of the Neonatal Nurse Practitioner role and scope of practice in a global aspect. She has been a member of Emory University Global Collaboration Centers and Council of International Neonatal Nurses. As part of duties for those committees, she was involved in developing curriculum for neonatal nurses in various international regions.
In addition to sharing the various aspects of the NNP role internationally, Dr Bell has been involved in attempts to rectify the issue of lack of diversity in higher education. She is working in her professional path to identify and implement strategies and interventions that will increase diversity in recruitment and retention of minority studies and minority nursing faculty.
Dr Bell is on the editorial board for the journal Advances in Neonatal Care, serving as the section editor for "Case Studies".
