Presenter Details

Dr. Michele Savin has worked with women and children for over 35 years. She was educated at the University of Delaware, the University of Pennsylvania and Thomas Jefferson University.

As the Director of the Jefferson Neonatal Nurse Practitioner program, she is responsible for the growth and development of novice neonatal nurse practitioners (NNP's) from around the country. Her clinical practice is with Nemours Children's Health in a busy level four Mid- Atlantic NICU.

Michele presents both locally and nationally on neonatal topics and those related to curriculum, health literacy, trauma informed care and improving communication with families. She is published on many neonatal topics and has a passion for provider and consumer education, believing that every clinician should look for the why behind the what in practice.

Some of Michele's volunteer work includes serving on the editorial board of Nursing for Women's Heath and being a review editor for several journals. Michele is currently assisting Project HOPE with curriculum and faculty development to improve the care of infants in Africa.
