Amanda Koennecke
Amanda Koennecke serves as a Neonatal Nurse Practitioner at Albany Medical Center in Albany, New York and Assistant Professor of Practice at Russell Sage College in Troy, New York. She is a certified yoga teacher and colon cancer survivor.
Amanda earned her Associate of Applied Science in Nursing at Maria College in 2006, Bachelor of Science in Nursing at the State University of New York Institute of Technology in 2012, Master of Science in Neonatal Health at Stony Brook University in 2016 and Doctor of Nursing Practice from the University of New Hampshire in 2024. She began the Samuel H. and Maria Miller Postdoctoral Fellowship Program at Case Western Reserve University in the Fall of 2025.
Amanda was recently in a pioneer group of three Advanced Practice Providers (APP) as the first to achieve faculty promotion within Albany Medical College to Assistant Professor of Pediatrics in 2025 paving the way for future APPs. She serves as a Neonatal Resuscitation Program instructor, on the National Certification Corporation leadership team, volunteer nurse at Double H Ranch and as an active member of the Florida Association of Neonatal Nurse Practitioners where she was the 2023 scholarship recipient.
Her focus is on the development of clinical practice guidelines, the future of the APP workforce, and health care provider wellbeing.
